Dear Parents /Guardians:
This letter is to inform you that the state of Florida has instituted an End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment for all high school Biology students. This test is designed to measure student achievement of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and is scheduled to take place in May 2024. The EOC Assessment will be delivered via a computer-based testing platform. Please note, accommodations will be provided for students with documented IEP or 504 plans on file with the school district.
This year the Biology EOC exam will count as 30% of a student’s overall grade. Therefore, it is extremely important that all students start preparing for this test today.
Preparation during school hours:
The following practices and methods will be used during the school day to help your child prepare for his or her Biology EOC.
Helping your child/student prepare:
Students will receive a great deal of important Biology information during their actual class hours. However, to score well on any EOC it will require time and work outside of the classroom. I encourage you to help your child/student develop good study habits. While assigned written homework will be kept to an absolute minimum, every day should be viewed as an excellent opportunity to review and study for the Biology EOC (and … Class Tests or Quizzes.)
